According to our lighting solution for the size and lighting demand of the venue: use 150w led high bay in places with low lighting requirements such as aisles and storage areas; use 150w lighting fixture on the workbench to achieve 20,000 lumens brightness. Do LED high bay lights get hot?

If you ask me if high bay lights get hot, my answer is yes and no.

It needs to be considered from several aspects when it gets hot

1. The quality of lamp beads We should know that the source of heat dissipation of LED lamps comes from the light emitted by diodes. In the process of converting electrical energy into light energy, a part of the electrical energy will be converted into heat energy. It is only necessary to select lamp beads with stable quality to generate only the normal proportion of heat.
2. Radiator material. The main function of the heat sink is to transfer the heat emitted by the diode crystal. There are several materials used to make radiators on the market, mainly plastic, graphene, magnesium alloy, and aluminum radiators (the degree of heat dissipation increases from left to right). If it is a high bay light with a plastic casing, I believe it will be very hot. But with a die-cast aluminum housing or a cold-forged housing, it will be cool. Read more about heatsinks here.
3. Power quality, Generally speaking, lamps and lanterns often need the power to drive lighting. Using a power supply with a long warranty period can reduce the occurrence of lamp burnout due to high temperatures.
4. Working environment Each lamp has its specific working environment temperature, generally between -20°C-45°C. It is recommended not to exceed this temperature range when using the high bay light series. If you need to work in steel mills, foundries, smelters, power plants, chemical plants, etc., where the temperature is around 70°C (115°F), it is recommended to use high-temperature high bay lamps.
5. Duration of use: The high bay light does not want to be used to the limit like the tunnel light is always on, and the lighting will not make it hot during the 8 hours of work every day.
